What is a Wiki?

For a general explanation of a wiki see here: wikipedia wiki definition (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki)

How can the Angliss ED use a Wiki?

Because a wiki is an interactive place we (and that means you) can -

Communicate and share ideas.
Use it as a "White board" to brainstorm.
Ask questions of other staff.
Share knowledge.
Adjunct to preceptorship programs.
Adjunct to educational programs.
Facilitate working on shared projects and portfolios.

...and much more!

~ What WikiED is NOT ~

WikiED is also not a replacement for programs like Word or Excel or Powerpoint although you can present and edit text and other data such as graphics in similar forms here.

WikiED is also not an official Eastern Health Service or Angliss Hospital website. The content and dialogue found on this site does not represent of views of the Angliss Hospital or of the Eastern Health Network.

If you are staff member and want to take part:

If you do not have login rights yet, (a user name and password) please use our contact form: contact WikiED (http://www.wikied.org/email.php) to request access details for WikiED. This is a security measure, thank you for your patience. Once that is sorted...
then you can log in and start contributing. (You need to be logged in to edit pages)
To start with go to our sandbox to get a feel of how things work. Check out the Help:Contents page for some links to pages that explain some of the wiki's features.
